Truck Transmission Shift Patterns

truck transmission shift patterns
Is it more difficult to change to 13 or 18-speed transmission of the tractor trailer in a standard 10-speed?

I am a class CDL A truck driver, but I have only operated 10 speed transmissions .. I wonder what the patterns of change are 13 and 18 speed truck transmission ……

I'm not sure of the pattern of the 18, but 13 is just a 9 speed that can split the 4-speed overdrive. Instead of going down to 6th gear as you would in the speed of your 10 when you enter the high end, we must continue in the 2nd. Once in 6th, there is a slide button additional your thumb on the shifter handle that slides forward to the 7th. That change is no need to clutch, simply slide forward and let off the throttle and change. Then to go to 8, which in a single flick, the separator slide back and move on to next gear (which would be the 3rd gear position. Then just follow the sequence through the rest of the gear division. It is not necessary to classify all the arts, if you do not need power. You can simply change the speed of 9 and a final time to slide button forward gear Splitter gait.
